| PLEASE FAVORITE THIS IMPORTANT VIDEO! This just in, from: retnews.com/article/1,5143,700256624,00.html The Bible classes won't be mandatory for schools to put on. This comes from the Texas Attorney General, Greg Abbott. Why did it take several months for someone in the Texas state government to make this clarification, if the legislature which passed it did not clarify it, nor did the governor who signed it into law? It's a religious law that's irresponsible and poorly planned, that's why, obviously. I have a challenge for Texas public high school students, and anyone else who can do this: Join that class! Become a student and give the teacher our toughest questions about the Bible. Then, when the answers you get are ridiculous or not answers at all, tell your teacher. Tell that teacher that since the Bible is such a terrible book, and since even people who try to teach it can't give answers about it based only in reason, the Bible class shouldn't happen. At least it shouldn't be because of a "law respecting an establishment of religion." If you manage to do all of these things, please make a Youtube video about it. Then let me know, and I'll make another video talking about the videos responses to this challenge. If anyone says these Bible classes are optional, tell them this: It's not optional for us taxpayers who will be forced to pay for this. The cost of the classes and the inevitable lawsuits they will involve will cost Texas taxpayers a bundle! Finally, the new Texas state law passed last year that enables this kind of thing is another "law respecting an establishment of religion." We're not supposed to have laws like that. Religion inspires lawlessness. A good antedote is critical thinking. But you have to say something! Speak out! It's your right, and dare I say, it's also your DUTY! :o) My cool t-shirt is courtesy of Corpus Christi Atheists: check out: reethoughtconvention.com and: rg/tx By the way, I'm aware that most public high school students are currently out of school for the summer. So this is a long-term challenge, although there are now several public high schools that are year-round, and many many students attend them during the summer, having nothing to do with bad grades. I predict that some Bible classes will start up before the end of summer. Please check out: reethoughtconention.com A J.A.M. Production |
