*READ BEFORE WATCHING* Voldemort has killed Harry. Hermione is devastated, and she decides that she must find a way to go into the past and kill Tom Riddle before he becomes the Dark Lord. She settles on doing this through Tom Riddle's diary (remember people, this vid is AU, so the diary hasn't been destroyed.) She is successfully drawn into the past, but finds that she is unable to kill Tom Riddle. She is instead swept away by his charm and intelligence, believing that no one like that could be 100% evil. Thus, she decides to try and change him and pull him out of the dark arts, believing that this will also work to alter the future. However, Tom Riddle cannot be changed. Hermione tells him of the horrors of her past (Harry's death) to try and show him what he will become if he does not let her help him, but Tom does not want to hear about it. He has enough of his own troubled memories, and does not want to be drawn into the past. His past has shaped who he is: he never knew love and thus he is incapable of showing it. He knows Hermione can never understand the demons of his past, and tells her that she can not change who he is: Voldemort is too much a part of him; there is no turning back. He accuses her of deceiving herself and the world in her belief that he is at heart a good boy, for his heart is frozen and he is set in his ways. The line between right and wrong is blurred and no longer matters.
