Since 1966, the MDA Telethon, hosted by Jerry Lewis, has taken place every year on Labor Day Weekend, with stations around the country carrying the broadcast; approximately 15-20 minutes of each hour consists of segments from the local stations, exclusive to their market areas. (See rg for more details.) The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon has raised millions and millions of dollars for the fight against muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases.
