Sociedad striker Inigo Diaz de Cerio has received a serious injury in the match yesterday against Eibar. The derby game was locked at 0-0 until the gruesome injury that occured in the 63rd minute.
The 24-year-old collided with the Eibar goalkeeper Zior and fractured both his fibula and tibula. He is now expected to miss the next six months of the season.
Inigo Diaz de Cerio is expected to be operated on today and the club doctor reported that he fractured the middle third of the tibia and the fibula of his right leg.
The target striker has been at Sociedad for four seasons, scoring 16 in 35 games last season and he had claimed four goals in 10 appearances this campaign already.
