| Based on a true story. Now I apologise to those of you wanting me to get in front of the cam - still awaiting my technology! The poems won't wait however - so here is another reading video - BUT - when the little pink box opens in the poem - you may find Sunbeam hiding somewhere in there.I'm shy ;).xx LITTLE PINK BOX He packed me away, in a little pink box A sweet, little box. A little pink box. He packed me away in a little pink box So he could try and forget me. He tucked all my treasures in a little pink box And wrapped them in tissue, so softly forlorn He tucked me away in a little pink box So he would always know where to find me. So he could caress me and hold me close Remember my wonders, ponder our shared joy Keep me all to himself, in silky imprisonment He locked me away in a little pink box So no-one else could ever find me Each day all alone, he guiltily visits me Pulls out each token, each photograph, my image to see Touches my face, feels the warmth of my smile Lets his heart open, lets his soul fly free for a while And just for a moment, he has me back in his arms There was no goodbye, I still see his charms And just for a moment, our love is still there In my heart, in his, all around us, in air Then he shuts me away in that sweet little box That only he gets to see He hopes one day, he will forget He will move on, have no regrets He hopes the lies he told will fade The wrongs he did, the way he betrayed The reason I said goodbye will turn to dust And all that will be left of what was us Will lie within this pretty pink box Of hazy, hazy memories But try as we might to tuck away Those feelings we felt another day Our hearts won't be told when we try to force them Soul bonds once formed aren't so easily broken So day after day, he locks me away In the little pink box, by his side I will stay He locks his heart too and hopes no one will see The secret he keeps hidden. The secret that's me. He locked me away in a little pink box. I wonder when I will fly free © Copyright. All rights reserved. Jill J.
