Twins Brooke and Nathan Davis, Peyton Sawyer, Lucas Scott and Haley James has been friends their entire lives. When Nathan and Haley decide to marry in the middle of senior year everyone expected a happily ever after.
But when a drunk driver ran their limo off a bridge on their way to their honeymoon their ever after ended.
Now Brooke, Peyton and Lucas have to learn to navigate through their lives without their best friends.
Brooke has to learn to live without the missing piece in her close family, she still has both her parents but even Karen and Dan are having a hard time coping with the loss of their son.
Lucas finds that he can't play basketball without his co-captain and the one person he's played with since he was old enough to hold a basketball.
