| Stanley Moon (Dudley Moore) has sold his soul to George Spiggot (better known as Lucifer; played by Peter Cook) for seven wishes which he uses to win the love of Margaret Spencer (Eleanor Bron) In this attempt Stanley is a pop star and Margaret a teenaged fan.
