| Once again, another oddity in the Mortal Kombat series. First a little history: During the initial release of Mortal Kombat 3, the typical "ninja" palette swap character was absent. Noob Saibot, the all black ninja from MKII, was still in the game though. So, rather than using ninja sprites, Midway decided to make him an all black Kano person instead. Come Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, the ninjas were back and Noob became his old ninja self again. Later came the console ports of UMK3. The mostly obscure Sega Saturn port was the most accurate of the bunch in superficial terms. (It has Sheeva!) However, and quite inexplicably, Noob Saibot was changed back to the Kano-version. This is despite the ninja sprites being present. Weird, eh? Evidence suggests that this is due to the game simply being a hack of the PlayStation version of Mortal Kombat 3. (The menu screen is identical, and it rather obviously still says "MK3".) Anyway, enjoy another mysterious Mortal Kombat curiosity. I edited out the loading times and other boring stuff so as to get to the Noob quicker. Oh, and I know Noob is hard to see. I think that's sort of the point of his character. |
