There was not only difference in age between these two artists, there was difference in experience; Damia had been singing for more than twenty years then, whereas Piaf was making her first steps in the "industry". Damia seems to have gained a distance in her renditions, still dramatic; Edith's experience was troubled youth which enhanced imagination as it often happens with most of great artists at the beginning of their path. |
