I was putting my kids to bed last night, and I thought of all the mothers who are putting their kids to bed without their husbands there to help, because their men are off fighting in a war. I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for our military men and women, and for the ones they leave behind at home. I can't imagine how hard it must be for those wives!! I feel they deserve to be recognized! So I wrote this little song to honor them. And the wives of the past as well, and from every country, all over the world. no matter which side of the fight you are on, there are wives at home, praying for their husbands safe return!
She tucks them into bed
Kisses their foreheads
She asks for angels to watch them while they sleep
She goes to her room alone
The empty bed looks so cold
She asks for angels to send her peaceful dreams
She thinks of her soldier
So far away
She asks for angels to keep him safe one more day
While he fights for freedom
While he fights for honor
While he fights for his family
While he fights for you and me
She wakes up everyday
Puts on her bravest face
She asks for angels to give her the strength
She's one in a million of mothers and wives, who stand by their soldiers while they're fighting for their lives
