Pete Ferguson is furious to discover his 'story' has been buried in the paper and goes to Paul for answers. Confused, Paul hauls Susan and Elle over the coals and says he'll run the story despite Susan pleading for Karl's career. However, when Paul finds out legally they could be putting themselves on the line, Paul decides it's best if the story is put on the back-burner for the time being. Pete is furious and takes desperate action to ensure the story appears, by kidnapping Elle and Susan.
Dan and Libby finally muster up the courage to invest in their relationship and make a fresh start. However, while Libby finds their first date to be absolutely perfect, Dan hides dark thoughts of Lucas and the ever-present love triangle.
